Project Profile

In collaboration with Glue Applications, a new business venture was embarked upon. We licensed a software platform from LocalUp Solutions that allows for restaurant listing, menus and online ordering.

Discovery and Focus

There are 2 distinct target audiences for business model - restaurants who are listed and featured on the site, and hungry consumers (our focus is on the university populace) who are looking for fast and convenient dining options.

We went through a naming excercise which resulted in the creation of "QuickCanteen". The strategy for the visual identity was a sense of fun and fulfilment. Users of the site are encouraged to check out various restaurants and get the best deal of the day.

As part of the marketing strategy, I created a set of hungry characters that would help highlight specific specials on the site. They will appear on printed marketing materials and throughout the website.

Results

The site and business officially launches in September 2011 in line with the university year.
